WAVES  Projects

In March 2003 WAVES started to employ its own part time administrator Sue Hibbert based in the Village Companies Office 41 High Street.  They secured initial funding and set up costs from SRB 5 Coalfields Alliance.

Sue has now become a valuable part of WAVES, she takes and produces all minutes from board meetings and researches project and helps with bid applications.
WAVES is also looking to purchase and renovate Burns Lane Enterprise Units (6,500sq ft - 13 units) and manage them as Managed Workspace for office, workshop and other small business.  They are currently in negotiations with Mansfield District council with a view to purchasing the units.  Over time WAVES wishes to update, renovate and remodel the facility to attract indigenous business start ups and inward investment.

WAVES is in the process of developing a Handy person service as a social enterprise.
Employing 3 people initially and possibly developing this as service demand increases.
They have already purchased most of the capital equipment by securing funding from the
Active Communities Unit (Government Office) and are now trying to secure funding for the
revenue.
The service will provide basic maintenance and DIY to local people.
The Handyperson Service will be based in Market Warsop.
